Where is John Fetterman? While Still in Hospital, Fetterman’s Staff Take Over, Block Journalists For Asking Questions About the Shadow Senator’s Health

Mar 2, 2023 | Political News

On Thursday, it was revealed that Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) has supposedly signed onto a piece of legislation to prevent future train derailments like that seen in East Palestine, Ohio last month. Fetterman, however, is still in the hospital leaving Pennsylvanians in the dark as to who is actually running the senator's office on Capitol Hill.

The legislation, titled the “Railway Safety Act of 2023,” was introduced by Fetterman along with Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA). This raises red flags given that Fetterman was checked into Walter Reed Medical Center.

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer two weeks ago, Fetterman was checked in to be treated for depression likely caused by his isolation in Washington, D.C., and the difficulties he has had while attempting to adjust to working in the Senate with multiple cognitive handicaps.

“Last night, Senator John Fetterman checked himself into Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to receive treatment for clinical depression,” said Fetterman's Chief of Staff Adam Jentleson at the time. “While John has experienced depression off and on throughout his life, it only became severe in recent weeks.”

“On Monday, John was evaluated by Dr. Brian P. Monahan, the Attending Physician of the United States Congress,” he continued. “Yesterday, Dr. Monahan recommended inpatient care at Walter Reed. John agreed, and he is receiving treatment on a voluntary basis. After examining John, the doctors at Walter Reed told us that John is getting the care he needs, and will soon be back to himself,” the chief of staff added.

Fetterman's lack of health updates, however, hasn't gone unnoticed. “Fetterman is isolated in a mental institution right now. He didn’t join a bipartisan group of anything,” wrote the Federalist CEO Sean Davis. “So the question is which staffer has appointed himself senator in Fetterman’s office?”

AS NEWS OF FETTERMAN'S CONDITION REMAINS OBSCURE, PENNSYLVANIANS ARE CALLING FOR THE SENATOR TO SHOW UP OR BE SHOWN THE DOOR

“Is there a single journalist within the border of the continental United States going to ask the question of how John Fetterman co-authored a letter in the united states Senate while under direct medical observation at Walter Reed for self-admitted fear of harm and depression?” asked The Spectator Contributing Editor Stephen Miller.

“John Fetterman is currently incapacitated and under hospitalized observation and also introducing congressional legislation. Also, if you ask his office about it, they will block you on Twitter,” he continued. “Seems like something worth looking into.”

In an attempt to dodge questions from reporters, Fetterman's Chief of Staff Adam Jentleson blocked Miller on Twitter for his questions about Fetterman's health after no updates have occurred since he was admitted on February 16th, thus depriving constituents of a senator for over two weeks.

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, Pennsylvanians are getting fed up with the lack of communication. Fetterman has been called upon to demonstrate his competency to serve or resign according to Just The News. The chorus of Republicans from the Keystone State demand that Mr. Fetterman appears on camera and display that he is still able to function.

Americans everywhere are hoping that Fetterman can recover, however, it would be a disservice to the people of Pennsylvania for him to continue to remain in his seat if he is unable to fulfill the responsibilities of his office. Fetterman's staff is doing a terrible job assuring the public of Fetterman's health and it has many wondering if the senator's ability is far worse than first realized. Americans, and Pennsylvanians in particular, deserve answers.
