Trump pledges he will ‘defend western civilization’ at Sioux City rally

Former President Donald Trump vowed to defend Western civilization during a campaign speech in Iowa on Sunday. His remarks come as worldwide tension increases over Israel's war against Hamas terrorists, with shocking anti-Israel protests erupting throughout Europe, the Middle East, Canada, and the United States.

While speaking to a crowd of thousands in Sioux Falls, Trump said: “Our constitution is being ripped to shreds. Israel is under attack. And now we have terrorist sympathizers chanting their jihad slogans on our streets, all over our streets. With your vote, we will defend our country, we will defend our Judeo-Christian values, and we will defend Western civilization.”

“That's what we've gotta do,” the former president asserted.

Since the Israel-Hamas war began on Oct. 7, Trump, who is the current Republican frontrunner in the 2024 presidential election, has been vocal about his distaste towards pro-Hamas and anti-Israel demonstrations that have been occurring at American universities and city streets across the world.

Trump has vowed to deport “Hamas terrorist sympathizers” and to keep the United States free of “radical Islamic jihadists.” The former president, who had far stricter immigration policies during his time in the White House compared to those of today, said he doesn't want to see America become Europe, where countries like France and the UK have imported a large Muslim population that despises the Western world.

“We have to keep our country safe, and we do it not because we want to start wars. We do it because we want to stop wars,” Trump said during his speech on Sunday.

In response to the increasing threats from US enemies following America's backing of Israel, Trump asserted that if US enemies kill American citizens, then America will be sure to retaliate.

“If you try to kill our citizens, we will kill you,” Trump said. “That's the way we're going to keep our country safe.”

On Saturday while speaking in Nevada, Trump slammed President Biden's foreign policy and issued a message to the victims of the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel: “To every Israeli and every American touched by these barbaric activities: We love you, we're with you, we grieve with you, we share your anger and we stand with you 100%.”
