On Monday, Forty-fifth President Donald Trump congratulated the “Trump of the Tropics” Brazilian President, Jair Bolsonaro, on “outperforming fake news polls” and forcing a runoff against former far far-left president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

“Congratulations to President of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro on greatly ‘outperforming’ inaccurate early Fake News Media polls & getting into a two person runoff, to take place October 30th, with a Radical Left challenger,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.

“Now that other Conservatives are out of the race, President Bolsonaro is in a very strong position to win BIG. More importantly, he will be victorious because the wonderful people of Brazil appreciate the great job he has done, and is doing. Tremendous Voter Surge over the last 24 hours,” Trump added.

With 99.87 percent of the ballots in, Da Silvia received 48.4 percent and Bolsonaro received 43.23 percent. Neither candidate received the required 50 percent to be elected president in the first round.

The two candidates will face off again with a runoff election on October 30.

Trump, who endorsed Bolsonaro, continued, “So happy to have helped a great person and leader get into the difficult to achieve, with other Conservative candidates and certain difficult rules and regulations, run off for President of Brazil.”

“The Voters made a great decision in giving such strong backing to the brilliant and very hard working current President, Jair Bolsonaro. Now, for the sake of Brazil and its future greatness, they have to get Jair over the finish line, against a Radical Left Socialist, on October 30th. Go Bolsonaro!!!” Trump added.

“Our system is not 100 percent ironclad. There’s always the possibility of something abnormal happening in a fully computerized system,” Bolsonaro said.

In reaction to the election results, Bolsonaro reposted a video of himself on Twitter dancing shirtless.

“Brazilian friends, if you're going to vote on Sunday, @FabioPorchat promised to teach me how to dance ‘Envolver' by @anitta,” Actor Mark Ruffalo tweeted.

Trump endorsed Bolsonaro last month, saying in a video, “”He's done an absolutely incredible job with your economy, with your country. He's respected by everybody all throughout the world. So I strongly endorse President Bolsonaro. He will be your leader for hopefully a long time.”
