The Crackdown on Gas

Apr 13, 2023 | True Patriot News Daily

Did you see that the Environmental Protection Agency just released a new proposal to increase the adoption of more electric vehicles to replace gas powered cars? This is just the latest in a long line of efforts from liberals to “combat climate change” that will ultimately have little to no effect on the amount of carbon dioxide in the earth's atmosphere.

While the EPA touts statistics like decreasing carbon emissions by 56%, we all know this is really about controlling our everday lives while the liberal elites continue to jet-set around the world. In reality, if the Left cared as much as they say they did about the climate, they would cease flying private jets to climate change functions around the world and they would sell their multiple mansions to donate the funding to charitable organizations that clean up the oceans or help plant trees.

Don't forget that these are the same people who want to restrict us from using gas powered stoves, want to limit our usage of air conditioners, and would rather have us eat bugs than continue to eat red meat. All of these measures achieve one thing: they make our lives harder. We shouldn't forget that the rich and powerful are the ones who contribute to climate change more than everday Americans. It's a lot easier for a millionaire to buy a brand new electric vehicle than it is for an average person to buy a used car that still runs on gas.

We can't forget that this whole issue boils down to control. They want to control where we go, what we drive, and what we eat. I say let Bill Gates be the first to switch to a diet of worms, and I'll buy an electric car as soon as he gives up his private jet. The Environmental Protection Agency proposed new vehicle emissions standards on Wednesday that would aim to increase adoption of electric cars and battle climate change.

The “more stringent” standards released by the agency would induce a 56% decrease in greenhouse gas emissions for light-duty vehicles as well as a 44% decrease for medium-duty vehicles, while similar standards were introduced for heavy-duty vehicles. The regulations would seek to change market conditions such that electric vehicles constitute two-thirds of new sales for light-duty vehicles and nearly half of new sales for medium-duty vehicles by 2032.

The proposals follow aggressive regulations and legislative packages from the White House over the past two years in favor of electric vehicles and an overall transition toward renewable energy. The Biden administration, which has established a “whole-of-government effort” to reduce carbon emissions and incentivize renewables, has also introduced new emissions rules for gas stoves, air conditioners, and mobile homes.
