Self-avowed socialist and radical Democrat Seattle City Council Woman Kshama Sawant demanded cops to be placed outside her residence earlier this month, after feces was thrown at her home.
As Fox News Digital reports:
“A progressive member of the Seattle City Council who has been a vocal critic of law enforcement amid the “defund the police” movement is criticizing police for not sufficiently pursuing reports of multiple instances of feces being thrown into her yard.
Seattle City Councilmember Kshama Sawant, a self-described socialist, sent a letter to police in Seattle this week claiming they are ‘failing to investigate” what she says are six separate instances of a politically motivated person throwing feces into her yard,' KCPQ-TV reported.”
Sawant claimed there was “a glaring inconsistency between this approach and the way in which former Mayor Durkan, after a peaceful Black Lives Matter protest was held a short distance from her mansion, was provided with a 24-hour stakeout for a full year. As a socialist City Councilmember who has participated in Black Lives Matter protests, I am being told that my case of six threatening incidents involving human excrement doesn’t merit even a serious investigation, let alone protection.”
Sawan has a long history of derogatory remarks toward police officers. For example, in 2017 she was sued for calling two cops “murderers.” As Seattle's KIRO 7 reports:
“Two Seattle police officers are suing City Councilmember Kshama Sawant for defamation over comments she made after they shot a criminal suspect to death.
The lawsuit says Sawant pronounced the officers “murderers,” even though they were never charged with a crime for shooting Che Taylor last year.”
She also claimed cops target black communities. As KUOW-NPR adds, Sawant said the following in 2019:
“African-American community members are overwhelmingly disproportionately targeted in fatal police shootings, arrests, and mass incarceration. Seattle police shoot and kill more people each year than the police forces of many countries. The city’s political establishment unfortunately approved a police contract last year that rolls back the hard-won accountability measures, with only my dissenting vote. We need a democratically-elected community oversight board in Seattle, with full powers to hold police accountable, including setting department policy and procedure.”
All in all, this is a clear double standard on the part of a Democrat politician. When they need police, they are valuable parts of society. But they are also political punishing bags. All in all, our cops need politicians who back the blue — not America Last Democrats who push for socialistic policies.
