So about that “disinformation”…

If you've seen the news recently, you may have noticed a changing narrative with regards to the Wuhan lab leak “theory”. For months the mainstream media parroted the narrative that the Wuhan lab leak story was a conspiracy theory that only crazy people would ever believe.

Well, I have bad news for them: the Wall Street Journal broke a story on February 26th that the Department of Energy believes the Covid-19 virus most likely emerged from a lab in Wuhan, China. Curiously, few media outlets have apologized for chastizing anyone brave enough to talk about the Wuhan lab leak theory.

Major media outlets like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram had policies where they would either provide a “fact check” for stories about Wuhan, or they would ban people from asking questions in the first place. It leaves one wondering why they would go through such an effort to police a story from emerging, and who stood to gain from not asking questions about the origins of the Coronavirus.

You may remember how liberals were eager to ask for “Covid amnesty” after it was understood that “the Science” wasn't quite right when it comes to masking and other preventative measures for Covid. Well, this revelation about the Wuhan lab leak is no different. We should not forgive major media outlets who called us conspiracy theorists and crazy for even asking questions about the origins of Covid.

Instead, we should hold those people accountable and ask who would gain from the lab leak being kept secret, and why did the media narrative refuse to follow the truth in the first place? I thought that the first rule of journalism was to tell the truth, not protect people when it was politically advantageous to do so.

It has been a bad week for patronizing crusaders who seek to bar controversial speech on the grounds of “disinformation.” On February 26, the Wall Street Journal broke a story regarding a classified Department of Energy report that the Covid-19 virus most likely originated with a leak from China’s Wuhan lab.

FBI Director Christopher Wray echoed the DOE’s conclusion in a February 28 interview with Fox News. Such developments should be a monumental embarrassment to numerous figures in both government and the establishment news media who worked diligently in 2020-2021 to block accounts that endorsed—or even favorably considered—the lab-leak thesis.

The new bombshell revelations will likely create turbulence in multiple respects. It will exacerbate already contentious relations between the United States and the People’s Republic of China (PRC). Xi Jinping’s government made every effort to prevent an independent investigation of Covid’s onset, and PRC officials were aided by Western medical bureaucrats who insisted that it was virtually certain the virus came from nature.
