Press Stunned as Biden Calls Out, Searches for Dead Congresswoman During Speech

At an event on Wednesday, President Joe Biden (D) absent-mindedly called out for Congresswoman Jackie Walorski (R-IN) in the crowd despite the congresswoman tragically dying in a car accident in August.

The event was meant to focus on combating hunger, however, Biden’s gaff has overshadowed it. “So many of you know so much about this as well and you’re committed. And I want to thank everyone here including bipartisan elected officials like representatives and governors, Sen. Braun, Sen. Booker, Representative…”

“Jackie, are you here? Where’s Jackie?” the President of the United States stated, looking out into the crowd and stating, “she must not be here. I didn’t think she was — she wasn’t going to be here — to help make this a reality.”

The president, once again showing his incompetence, released a statement last month on Rep. Walorski’s death: “Jill and I are shocked and saddened by the death of Congresswoman Jackie Walorski of Indiana along with two members of her staff in a car accident today in Indiana.”

President Biden plans to welcome the Walorski’s family to the White House on Friday to sign a bill to rename a veterans clinic in her honor, according to the Washington Post.

Following the gaff, the White House attempted to do damage control as Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that the congresswomen had been “top of mind” for the 79-year-old president.

“So the President was, as you all know — you guys were watching today’s event, a very important event on food insecurity. The President was naming the congressional champions on this issue and was acknowledging her incredible work,” the press secretary explained, adding, “He had — he had already planned to welcome the congresswoman’s family to the White House on Friday. There will be a bill signing in her honor this coming Friday.”

“So, of course, she was on his mind. She was of top of mind for the President,” she attempted to claim despite the event taking place two days before the signing. “He looks — very much looks forward to discussing her remarkable legacy of public service with them when he sees her family this coming Friday.”

A reporter then pushed Jean-Pierre for more of an answer restating what the president had said. In response, the press secretary stuttered out an answer:

“I just — I just explained she was on top of mind. You know, this wasn’t — what we were able to witness today and what the President was able to lift up in this — at this conference at this event was how her — her focus on wanting to deal with, combat food — food insecurity in America. And this is something that he was lifting up and honoring.”

“And, again, he knows that he’s going to see her family this coming Friday,” the explained. “There’s a bill signing that’s going to happen in renaming a VA clinic in Indiana after the late congresswoman. He knows that he is going to see her family, and she was at top of mind.”

Biden has once again shown his age and the White House has to clean up after him. Hopefully, come 2024, the country can get a competent Commander-in-Chief that doesn’t have to rely on his staff to pick up the slack.
