On Wednesday, a couple walking their dog in New York City turned the tables on a would-be thief.

When the 37-year-old tried to attack them, they fought back, leaving him with numerous stab wounds.

According to the New York Post, the couple were walking near 49th and Broadway in the Woodside neighborhood of Queens when all of a sudden, a man came up behind them.

Footage of the incident obtained via a nearby security camera showed him jumping the male would-be victim, who had been using a scooter due to a foot injury.

Before long, however, the suspect found himself being tossed onto the ground. He was punched multiple times by both the male and his female companion, before being stabbed.

Eventually the fighting ended, and bystanders stepped in to ensure it didn't start up again.

The original attacker, whose identity has not been released, was taken to nearby Elmhurst Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

While no arrests have been made in connection with the incident, police are said to be looking for two suspects.
