A new book by Pastor Kris Valleton makes the claim that our country is suffering not from a pandemic of illness, but one of fatherlessness.
Daily Signal reported on the book today, stating,
‘“Fifty-one percent of all children in America right now are born out of wedlock, 51%,” Vallotton, the senior associate leader of Bethel Church in Redding, California, says. “In 1950, 4% of Americans were born out of wedlock.”
The results of children growing up without fathers in the home are devastating, Vallotton says, with data revealing that “75% of all inmates grew up without a father,” and “63% of all youth suicides come from fatherless homes.”’
These numbers, while horrific, are realities we’ve faced for quite some time. The article goes on to describe, however, the new tragedy fatherlessness is contributing to: LGBT.
If fathers aren’t necessary, the author reasons, then mothers and fathers are interchangeable. By embracing a “genderless world”, the family is being destroyed and lives are being ruined.
Have you read the book? If so I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
