Did you see the interview Elon Musk gave to the BBC last week? In it, he eviscerated the journalist, who was attempting to paint Musk as someone who allows “hate speech” on Twitter. Instead of acquiescing to the journalist's line of questioning, the Twitter CEO was quick to question where exactly the journo saw examples of hate speech on the social media platform.
Flabbergasted, the journalist could not point to a single example of hate speech that was allowed on Twitter, which is typical of the main stream media. See, the MSM loves to pick a talking point and run with it. They'll settle on an accepted narrative and fit their “facts” into it, even when the reality of the situation doesn't support their findings.
Think of the examples of Jussie Smollett, where the main stream media was frothing at the mouth to talk about how racist America is, and how the whole situation must be the responsibility of MAGA Republicans, and, by extension, of President Trump. It turns out that the whole thing was an elaborate hoax to draw more attention to the TV star. Media outlets like MSNBC and CNN were quick to judge the situation, instead of investigating it like they should have, they saw a narrative that supported their politics and ran with it.
The same can be said of Elon Musk. Liberals see in Musk someone who is well-liked and somewhat conservative, and they think that he must be a closet racist who allows hate speech on his social media platform. Instead of doing their job and investigating whether or not any hate speech was actually allowed, the BBC saw an angle to smear Musk and they ran with it.
Perhaps one good thing can come from the failed interview with Musk: Elon was able to expose the biased and corrupt nature of one of the largest media companies in the world. Not to mention the fact that the BBC is state-funded, meaning that, much like NPR in America, the state is actively engaged in propagandizing on a massive scale. If you'd like to read more about the failed attempt at “gotcha journalism” against Elon Musk, please read this article from The New York Post. An excerpt of the article has been copied below:
Imagine a profession filled with ideologically foolish people who lack curiosity and are fueled by snobbery.
They’re among the population’s most educated people, with degrees from exclusive universities, yet many make a career out of being useful idiots.
They are egotistically certain about what they know nothing about and willfully oblivious to their pretentious demeanor as self-awareness is not their strong suit.
Now suppose these people are the ones we rely on for information and truthful narratives surrounding serious events.
The state of journalism, once seen as a profession filled with noble individuals, is now overly comprised of people who are as likable as herpes and expect praise for mediocrity just like a “nepo baby.”
This present-day profile of mainstream-media journalists is not just an American problem but international, as Twitter owner Elon Musk found out in his interview with BBC reporter James Clayton.
