Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and 10 other Republican congressmen on Tuesday held a press conference on the Protect Children's Innocence Act outside the U.S. Capitol as the issue of gender transition surgeries gains attention across the country.
The bill aims to make, “it a felony to perform any gender-affirming care on a minor and it permits a minor on whom such care is performed to bring a civil action against each individual who provided the care.”
The legislation, which was introduced by Rep. Greene on August 19, also aims to prohibit “the use of federal funds for gender-affirming care or for health insurance that covers such care.”
When speaking to reporters, Greene emphasized that the bill would ensure that children won't be, “fast-tracked into permanent harm to their bodies before they’re old enough to vote, get a tattoo, buy tobacco, join the military, often drive a car, and go see an R-rated movie.”
“This [gender-affirming care for minors] should never happen in the United States of America. As a matter of fact, it should never happen anywhere in the world.” Greene stated, according to the Epoch Times. “But there’s an ideology that is sexualizing children and pushing this among the most innocent kids, the most vulnerable, and all of our society. And it has to end.”

“These kids are taking puberty blockers, taking hormone therapy treatment, getting double mastectomies even as young as 12 years old,” Greene explained, adding, “Hysterectomies is just sterilization and even castration.”
“I've introduced the Protect Children's Innocent Act and I'm so proud to have Republican cosponsors signing on,” she stated. “Not only are we the party of protecting life in the womb, we want to protect kids' lives and their innocence as they grow up.”
“How on Earth can this be happening in America?” the congresswoman asked. “It's hard to even understand but the fact that the medical industry, which is making billions of dollars on these gender mutilation surgeries on kids, is absolutely horrific.”
“These are the things that nightmares are made of,” she declared, adding, “The real problem is that it is not only happening to kids and them thinking they are doing the right thing, but many of them are realizing years later, just when they are a little older, that they have made a tragic mistake and the damage is undoable. It's permanent.”
“Gender affirming” surgeries have gotten increasing attention in recent years as activists such as Matt Walsh and representatives like Marjorie Taylor Greene are turning up the temperature on a medical establishment keen on mutilating children in the name of progress.
Just this past week, Walsh shined a light on Vanderbilt University Medical Center which has been performing double mastectomies on teenage girls citing the surgeries as “a big money maker” due to the various “follow-ups” required.
BREAKING: My team and I have been investigating the transgender clinic at Vanderbilt here in Nashville. Vanderbilt drugs, chemically castrates, and performs double mastectomies on minors. But it gets worse. Here is what we found. Let's start at the beginning.

These surgeries exploit young children for the sake of profit and woke progress. Rep. Greene has done the right thing in introducing legislation and hopefully, if Republicans take back Congress this November, legislators in Washington, D.C. can finally put an end to these procedures.
