A Georgia mother has been convicted of felony murder after confronting the man who sexually abused her young daughter.

In March 2020, Danyale Harris, 42, discovered a shocking video that depicted her then 12-year-old daughter performing sexual acts with a 22-year-old man identified as Antonio Harley.

Upon making this discovery, Harris promptly reported the matter to a DeKalb County Police officer, who assured her that detectives would investigate the situation. The police also advised Harris that she not seek revenge against the man.

Despite this caution, Harris, along with several associates armed with handguns, proceeded to confront Harley at his apartment.

After arriving at Harley's apartment near the intersection of Wesley Chapel Road and Snapfinger Road, a confrontation ensued, during which Harley attempted to retreat inside his home. As Harley went to shut the door, one of Harris’ associates fired his gun, hitting Harley in the chest. Harley's brother, who was present in the apartment, returned fire, resulting in the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old individual accompanying Harris.

Following this sequence of events Harris was found guilty of felony murder, aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, per Fox News. DeKalb County Superior Court Judge Asha F. Jackson sentenced Harris to life with the possibility of parole, plus five years.

Harris, who survived the shot to the chest, has been charged with statutory rape, child molestation and sexual exploitation of children.
