The US House of Representatives has voted to kill a Democrat motion put forth to kill a resolution to censure Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI). Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who introduced the resolution to have Tlaib censured, said people ought to pay attention to lawmakers “who vote with the Democrats to stand with pro-Hamas antisemite, Rashida Tlaib.”
199 Democrats voted to table the resolution along with 23 Republicans, making for a final tally of 222-186; The 186 who voted against killing the motion were entirely made up of Republicans. 21 Republicans and 13 Democrats did not vote at all.
Reasons Greene gave in her request last month for Tlaib to be censured include Tlaib allegedly celebrating the holocaust in May 2019, Tlaib denouncing people for backing Israel's “apartheid government,” and reposting content stating, “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” which is a call for the removal of Israel as a nation.
This is a breaking story and will be updated.
