3 Kansas cops injured, woman shot, suspect dead following pursuit

Three deputies and a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper were injured following a shooting incident that occurred in Dodge City, Kansas, on Monday morning.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) said that the incident began when deputies from the Clark County Sheriff's office attempted to stop a vehicle being driven by a wanted suspect, according to KWCH.

The suspect fled, prompting the police to follow the vehicle north towards Dodge City. 

The Clark County deputies were eventually joined by deputies from the Ford County Sheriff's Office and Kansas Highway Patrol.

Once the suspect came to a stop, at around Hwy 50 and 113 Road in Dodge City, there was an exchange of gunfire between the suspect and the officers.

Two deputies from the Ford County Sheriff's Office were shot and transported to a hospital in Wichita. One of them remains in serious condition, and the other one is stable.

A deputy from the Clark County Sheriff's Office was also shot and subsequently transported to the hospital in Wichita, where he remains in serious condition.

A Kansas Highway Patrol trooper was also bitten by a K-9 officer, but is in good condition.

The male suspect was shot and pronounced dead at the scene, while a female passenger was transported to the Wichita hospital with gunshot injuries, where she remains in critical condition.
